…also in the Corona crisis. Why not try a new breakfast recipe? We all love crunchy but crunchy mueslis from the supermarket are usually high in fat and sugar, and not appropriate for elite athletes. That’s why here’s a quick recipe that you can make at home and delivers a nice, heathy crunchy start into the day. Your day will start nutrient dense with enough of energy and nutrients for your daily workout. Because exercise should still be part of your daily routine. Even in corona times.

Crunchy Muesli di Ceci

Ingredienti

(2-3 perzioni)

  • Ceci (crudo preferred), 300 g (alternativa 2 scatole)
  • Canella, 1⁄2 cucchiaino
  • Noce moscata, pizzico
  • Miele, 1 cucchiaio
  • Olio, 1⁄2 cucchiaio

Directions

Soak chickpeas over night in water, then cook for 30’ in fresh water. Sometimes the outer skin peels off, that’s just fine. Preheat oven at 200°C.

Dry chickpeas with paper towel and put into oven for 15 min.

Take chickpeas out of the oven, sprinkle with some canola oil. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg and honey.

Put back into the oven for another 15 min.

Turn off the oven but let chickpeas cool off in the oven for a while. This makes them more crunchy.

Hint: Enrich some yogurt, also add a banana, some puppy seeds and walnuts.

Enjoy with apple sauce, milk for yogurt. Add some chopped nuts.

If you use canned chickpeas, rinse them before use.
